New Orleans / April 2003

This photograph was taken from the outside of the Café du Monde’s interior dining room, at about nine o’clock in the evening.  The outside dining was bustling, but I liked the Edward Hopper-like quality of the worker at the table.  The pictures on the wall must speak to a million stories and a million times as many coffees and beignets.
