New York City / August 2009
The animals on Merry-Go-Rounds are in constant motion, of course, even when they aren't moving. This horse and this ride, in New York City's Central Park, gave my daughter a happy ride shortly before I took this picture, and I was struck by the tireless leaps, the flowing mane, and the reaching legs -- even after the music had stopped. My daughter patted the horse's head and thanked it as we walked away, each of them ready to make the go-round again.
Medium Format Film; Taken with a Yashica LM TLR camera, built circa 1957
