I was just lucky to have caught this moment, this alignment of couch and corridor after corridor leading to Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ Shaw Memorial in the National Gallery. Barely a half-second later my camera’s frame was filled with people, in my room and in the rooms between me and the sculpture. This is an instant in time in a museum.
