In the French Quarter of New Orleans there are a thousand doors with as many histories. The simplicity of this orange/white/green juxtaposition caught my attention, and I always appreciated that none of the lines were perfect. (In my imagination I can almost see the painter quickly applying the orange paint, trying only halfheartedly to make the border straight.) My wife and I were taking a late afternoon walk through the Quarter when this photograph was taken.
