I'm always inspired by the mysteries and secrets behind old hotel walls -- dimly lit rooms, open windows, weathered signs. Sometimes they seem to tell of long-faded heydays from decades past; sometimes they seem to tell of sadness or happiness from residents, current and past. There are hotels like this in every city, but for me the ones in the older parts of downtown San Antonio are best captured in the deepness of black and white.
